Make It Count

June is my favorite month because it's my birthday month. If you know me, you know my philosophy on birthdays:

You don't just get a day, you get a weekend to celebrate, at a minimum.

At best, you celebrate the entire month

A great example of this is one year when my parents took me out to eat for my birthday and told me to invite some friends. I invited 2 close friends and my parents said they were happy they could join to celebrate my birthday. One friend turned to my parents and said, 'oh this is my 3rd Elaine birthday celebration so far'.

What can I say? It's how I roll.

If I'm being honest, for the past 5 years (at least), my actual birthDAY has been terrible. And that's not an exaggeration. Bad things have happened, things that left me in tears, things that hurt me, etc.

This year I have decided I am changing things around. Just like with your finances, you have to take control and decide what is best for you. What does that mean for me? I have planned out my favorite things I want to do and eat, people I would like to see, and people I do NOT want to see. Not to be mean to those people but to protect myself and my mental health.

Whether it's your birthday, your goals, your finances, your career, your...anything. It's time to make it count.

What makes you feel best? Who are the people that make you feel best? Encourage you? Surround yourself with those people, those encouragements, those people who challenge you to do better, be better and ace your fears.

It's time.

What actions are you going to take today to make it count?
