Life's a dance, you learn as you go...

This year has been crazy and has kept getting busier.

Between my new role at my day job, getting put in charge of a the #2 project for us....and all that comes with it, keeping up with my business (thank you for all the referrals!), turning 40 and other life items, to say it's been a busy 2023 would be an understatement!

However you know I love a good learning opportunity, so here we go.

What I've learned (so far) from 2023:

  • People will surprise you, no matter how much you think they can't (good and bad).

  • I do not enjoy the roller coaster of emotions that have come with this year and I much rather prefer the steady, even route.  This has become my new goal - don't let the small things work me up and don't let the big things be as big as they are, or seem to be.

  • It is so important to get outside.  My gosh has it been a huge mental health boost!

  • It's all about reframing your situation and the way you think.

  • Protecting your peace and mental health is important and something I put too far down on the list for too long.  This has changed.

  • Do it scared.  If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you.  Getting out of your comfort zone can be hard to push through, but it's always worth it.

  • Surround yourself with people who are honest and not afraid to call you out. You need to be surrouned by people who challenge you, not a bunch of 'yes men'.

  • There is a season for everything.

  • Ask people how they see you. You'll be surprised at the answers. The things you think you hide well, are seen by a surprising group. The things you think make you weak, others see as a strength and something they admire about you.

  • Life isn't linear. Your day isn't linear. It will have ups and downs, but you know what I've learned? A marble going on an up and down line moves faster than a marble on a straight line. Take the momentum and let it propel you forward.

I'm sure there will continue to be more but these are the ones that have stuck with me. What are some things you have learned this year?

Wrap it up

With only 1.5 months left in the year, it's time to start thinking through what you need to do to wrap up the year and prepare for the next. Here are a few things I do to wrap up the year: Go through

Is it settling?

This year has been a massive exercise in settling. No, not what you're thinking. And not in a negative connotation. I'm a planner... ...and planning helps keep me calm and keep the anxiety in lower l
