One year

One year.

It has officially been 1 year since my work sent us home to work from home, for what I truthfully thought would be two weeks. It has now been 1 year of working from home.

One year of:

Highs and lows

Feeling incredibly isolated

Loving on friends and family from afar

Distanced birthday celebrations

Not seeing my niece and nephew

Using the time to improve myself

Going after my dreams of becoming a PM Professional

Taking my PMP exam prep class

Taking, and PASSING, my PMP exam.

Starting my own business

Helping women go after their dreams

Encouraging others with little surprises to let them know I'm thinking and care about them

Being intentional

This has been a year. For everyone. It has been difficult. But I am thankful for the lessons I've learned and using the time when I was isolated (I started my exam prep class during the lockdown) to make the most of my time. I figured, if I have to be at home anyway...why not do something positive with it?

I also realized I had a list of things I would love to do to my house or work on or improve but I never had the time. Turns out some of that was true, but a lot of it I just didn't want to do. So I didn't. Because it wasn't necessary and there was no reason for those items except to make others happy.

I am looking forward to the day I can hug my parents again. Hug my niece and nephew again.

But I think facing things has a lot to do with our mindset. I have SO thankful for a mindset that used the time in the most effective way possible. Which lead me to being able to help others and encourage others, like YOU!

What are some things you learned over the past year?
